• January’s minutes acceptance moved, seconded, and approved.

Treasurer’s Report – Sofia

Treasurer’s report January 31, 2017

• Pledge campaign: Goal is L$300K. To date we have 13 pledges amounting to L$224,500. Payments to date total L$77,000.
• Removing people who have not pledged for 2015 and 2016 from active membership resulted in a reduction to 47 members.
• Sold 70,000 Lindens, resulting in a larger US$ balance.

UUtopia Report – Zyzzy

• Peter rented dav0’s former 2048 on the UUtopia East Coast. There was a building put there that had a large blank wall facing east, so I asked them to change it. Genamalfi did. The new building is more open, and is partly shielded by terrain. This is apparently for a group local to Peter in RL.
• I added Dearborn Carling as an Estate Manager so he can kick miscreants.
• I’m rewriting the Covenant and Rental Instructions.

• Sofia did sign FUUCSL up for UUA DECLARATION OF CONSCIENCE:

At this extraordinary time in our nation’s history, we are called to affirm our profound commitment to the fundamental principles of justice, equity and compassion, to truth and core values of American society.

In the face of looming threats to immigrants, Muslims, people of color, and the LGBTQ community and the rise of hate speech, harassment and hate crimes, we affirm our belief in the inherent worth and dignity of every person.

In opposition to any steps to undermine the right of every citizen to vote or to turn back advances in access to health care and reproductive rights, we affirm our commitment to justice and compassion in human relations.

And against actions to weaken or eliminate initiatives to address the threat of climate change – actions that would threaten not only our country but the entire planet – we affirm our unyielding commitment to protect the interdependent web of all existence.

We will oppose any and all unjust government actions to deport, register, discriminate, or despoil.

As people of conscience, we declare our commitment to translate our values into action as we stand on the side of love with the most vulnerable among us.

We welcome and invite all to join in this commitment for justice.

The time is now.

Library Report – Bel

World Religion Day was a huge success. Even going up against the Super Bowl and Baha’i Feast of Dominion among other things we still have 54 people on the counter at the end of the event. Minus the speakers and organizers that leaves us with 42 people attending.

I’ve set up an office next to Peter’s community in the sky. It makes for nice scenery out the windows. The office will be used for meetings of a new library panel that will meet 4 times a year to discuss projects and events we would like to see happen at the library. It will also be used to hold meetings to arrange those projects and events. There are also bookcases I’m filling with notecards with information any new librarian can use to help them get started. Also there will be information on past events and current projects. Under the office are also areas to work on current projects and events.

Current projects are a book fountain and trying to make the library building use less prims. Placing information notecards in the bookcases. Creating the library panel. Create a schedule and get these things on the FUUCSL calendar. Delegating projects to those that wish to head them. Giving each project their own bookcase to keep records in for the LG and Panel to have access to. To make sure all assets are marked to be shared with the Library of World Religions group and movable etc. by Luv and the owners.

The larger open area in the center of the library can be used for speaking events, Dances, Art displays etc. My plan is to come up with a schedule for these events once a month to bring in people from other communities.

I’ve also brought back the discussion area and TV. We have some regulars that love that setting with the cat playing at their feet. I hope to find someone to host a weekly or monthly discussion on UU Principles around current events. This is part of my plan to bring more focus on UU in the library since it is hosted by FUUCSL.

I’ve already changed the posters to have people join the Friends of UU group instead of the Library of World Religions Group. I will be sending out a notice to contact me if they want to be part of the panel and contributors group. Those people will be kept in the Library of World Religion Group (along with owners, LG etc.) That group will be used for planning and events only. The Friends of UU will be used to send out notices of events at the Library as an extension of FUUCSL.

Peter and I have been funding Luv and trying to get all the Library assets in her name. The donation bowls have been changed to fund the library through the Luv account. She has no payment information on file to buy lindens because who ever is the librarian at the time will be buying things in her name. So we have just transferred money from our accounts to Luv when we buy something in her name or shopping with her. Anything in her inventory is an asset of FUUCSL. I’ve also tried to put some textures in that account for building things in her name instead of mine. For now I’m building things in my name and then transferring them to Luv which limits the modifying etc. to what is in her account.

I will continue to work on finding all the Library assets in Belovan’s account and moving them to Luv’s account in an organized manner. The ultimate goal is to have all assets in LuvWorldReligions inventory for the library. If someone wants to have something added to the library they would send it to Luv or give her the lindens to buy it. That way everything in the library is under the control of FUUCSL.

• Tee’s upcoming schedule is a bit nuts so she will not be available to lead services. This is a responsibility we could all share in one way or another.

New Business

• Moved: That the librarian LuvWorldReligions be given an annual stipend of L$15,000, to cover occasional expenses and in appreciation for the librarian’s services. (Et moved, TED seconded, all agreed, motion passed). All expenditures are at the discretion of the librarian.
• What is the possibility of increasing our Kiva donation? (postpone to address in second half of the year)
• Next LG meeting in the library, March 23.
